REV.SR.IGNATIUS Y, a dynamic, daring, devoted person was appointed as the Principal and Correspondent of the college. Plantation for Botanical Garden was planned. The admissions of the college were rapidly increased to 206. Due to the cyclonic effect the college admissions has declined to 129 in the year 1976. In the year 1977, the admissions were only 146. The year 1977, Was a memorable year as College was admitted to Grant-in-aid .It remained as milestone in the history of the College. Immediately the admissions have increased to 179. The strength was hiking year by year. In the year 1979-1980 it was 214. Small stage was constructed for the cultural programme in the year 1979. The college admissions went on increasing. In the year 1981, it was 245 in 1982 it was 252; 1983 – 1984 it was 259. In 1985 it was only 251. The under the good guidance of Rev. Sr. Ignatius, everything went on smoothly and the college witnessed good progress. The college building with the 4 laboratories and a well-equipped Library was source of encouragement. The year 1980 was a red-letter day in the college history as Non-teaching posts and the posts of Contingent staff were admitted into grant-in-aid. Kum. N. Ananda Mary was selected to participate in the volley ball Nationals, conducted at Mizoram in Assam.
